Another Critter for Critter Tales

Just when I reached the huge milestone of finishing the first draft (with the exception of the conclusion), we added another critter to the homestead – honeybees! I have been amazed at the interest there has been in this, and decided to include them in Critter Tales.

This will be a short section, since it can only include my research and first experiences. As my editor said, however, the adventure can always continue in Critter Tales Volume 2. 🙂

Congratulations on (almost) reaching that huge milestone! My wife keeps saying she wishes we could keep bees (this city doesn’t allow them) and when I showed her your hive she said “It’s wonderful!”

Glad to hear you’re making steady progress.

I’m curious (and I probably already know the answer, but have forgotten), how did you come to meet/contact your editor? Are you happy/etc.?

Aw, that’s too bad about the bees. It’s a shame they aren’t allowed; they are so important for pollination and so interesting.

I was introduced to my editor through Scott M. Terry, host of Christian Farm and Homestead Radio. He’s interviewed me on his show a couple of times and has been very supportive of my writing. Leslie is very enthusiastic and supportive too, and I’m really happy with her work. This time, however, I know to get the final draft done before opening the desktop publisher and beginning work on formatting the interior. With 5 Acres & A Dream The Book I wrestled with the software learning curve and added mistakes that shouldn’t have been there. They jump out at me now, and I hope to do better with this one.
